NHL defenseman Adam Larsson has agreed to a four-year contract extension with the Seattle Kraken, carrying an average annual value of $5.25 million. This new deal comes as Larsson entered the final year of his previous four-year contract with the team, which he signed when Seattle selected him in the expansion draft before their inaugural 2021 season.

During the 2023-24 season, Larsson contributed significantly to the Kraken’s defense, scoring four goals and providing 14 assists while maintaining a plus-six rating. He averaged nearly 23 minutes of ice time per game, showcasing his importance to the team. Despite Larsson’s efforts, the Kraken finished sixth in the Pacific Division with a 34-35-13 record.

Larsson’s NHL career spans 13 seasons, during which he has played 848 games, accumulating 45 goals and 168 assists for 213 points. He has averaged over 21 minutes of ice time per game throughout his career, demonstrating his consistency and reliability as a defenseman.

Playoff Experience

The Swedish defenseman has participated in five Stanley Cup Playoff campaigns, with his most recent appearance coming in the 2022-23 season. During that playoff run, Larsson contributed two goals and four points over 14 games as the Kraken advanced to the second round before being eliminated by the Dallas Stars in Game 7.
