Jordan Kyrou netted two quick goals late in the second period to lift the St. Louis Blues to a 3-2 comeback win over the Seattle Kraken in the season opener for both teams on Tuesday night.
Philip Broberg also scored for the Blues, with his goal coming between Kyrou’s pair. The three goals were scored rapidly in 1 minute and 55 seconds, turning a two-goal deficit into a St. Louis lead. Justin Faulk recorded assists on the first two goals, while Robert Thomas, Dylan Holloway, and Alexandre Texier also contributed assists.
Vince Dunn and Eeli Tolvanen each found the back of the net for the Kraken early in the second period, giving Seattle an initial 2-0 lead.
Blues goalie Jordan Binnington made 30 saves to backstop the win, while Seattle’s Philipp Grubauer stopped 22 shots in the loss.
