Anton Forsberg turned aside 22 shots for his second straight shutout against the Seattle Kraken, helping the Ottawa Senators to a 3-0 win on Saturday night.

Brady Tkachuk scored his team-high seventh goal of the season in the second period.

Adam Gaudette opened the scoring in the first period, chipping in a backhand after a coach’s challenge overturned an initial no-goal ruling. Gaudette now has six goals in his last five games.

Tim Stutzle sealed the win with an empty-net goal just over two minutes before the final buzzer.

Despite ample opportunities as the Senators started to fade on the second night of back-to-back games, the Kraken couldn’t solve Forsberg. Kraken goalie Philipp Grubauer stopped 20 shots in the loss.

Takeaways

Kraken: Now three games into a five-game road trip, Seattle has dropped two straight and went 0 for 4 on power-play opportunities.

Senators: Ottawa had contributions across the lineup, with standout efforts from Tkachuk on the top line to Gaudette on the fourth. Forsberg was stellar, particularly impressive given Ottawa’s late arrival home from New York.

Key Moment

Five minutes into the third, Forsberg made a critical post-to-post save on Jordan Eberle, keeping the Senators ahead 2-0 as they began to tire.

Key Stat

Senators coach Travis Green is a perfect 3 for 3 on successful coach’s challenges this season.
