Vince Dunn’s decisive goal on a 5-on-3 power play late in the second period helped propel the Seattle Kraken to a 4-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday. Eeli Tolvanen and Matty Beniers added third-period goals to seal the win.
After a scoreless opening period, Oliver Bjorkstrand gave the Kraken a 1-0 lead early in the second. Pittsburgh’s Sidney Crosby responded just over two minutes later with his 14th goal of the season to tie the game.
Chandler Stephenson and Jared McCann each contributed two assists for Seattle, while Joey Daccord made 28 saves to backstop the victory.
The Penguins’ Kris Letang and Rickard Rakell picked up assists, and goaltender Joel Blomqvist recorded 21 saves in the loss. Pittsburgh also lost star forward Evgeni Malkin midway through the first period to a lower-body injury.
