Filip Forsberg scored twice, leading the Nashville Predators to a 5-3 victory over the Seattle Kraken on Thursday night.

Nashville broke open the game with three second-period goals. Brady Skjei started the scoring surge before Forsberg and Michael McCarron added goals. McCarron’s wraparound goal with just nine seconds left in the period extended the Predators’ lead to 4-1.

Luke Evangelista also found the back of the net for Nashville.

Seattle scored from Mikey Eyssimont, Adam Larsson, and Jared McCann, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Predators’ offensive push.

Juuse Saros stopped 22 shots in goal for Nashville, while Joey Daccord made 29 saves for Seattle.

Takeaways

Kraken: Seattle has struggled to find consistency, going 4-5-1 over its last 10 games.

Predators: Forsberg’s two-goal performance gave him 48 career multi-goal games, moving him past Kent Nilsson (47) for the fourth-most by a Swedish-born player. Mats Sundin (81), Daniel Alfredsson (64), and Markus Naslund (52) hold the top three spots.

Key Moment

Seattle struck early when Larsson scored just 32 seconds into the game. However, Forsberg answered with a goal in the first period, and Nashville took control with a dominant second period.
