Jaden Schwartz scored twice, and linemates Jani Nyman and Matty Beniers netted goals just 16 seconds apart as the Seattle Kraken dominated the Edmonton Oilers 6-1 on Thursday night, snapping a three-game losing streak.
Andre Burakovsky and Jared McCann also scored for Seattle, which exploded for five goals in the second period alone. Goaltender Joey Daccord was sharp, stopping 36 shots to help secure the victory.
Zach Hyman scored the lone goal for the Oilers without stars Connor McDavid (lower-body injury) and Leon Draisaitl (undisclosed) for the third straight game. Calvin Pickard made 24 saves through two periods, while Olivier Rodrigue took over in the third and stopped all seven shots he faced.
The Kraken and Oilers each successfully used a coach’s challenge. Jeff Skinner appeared to score late in the first for Edmonton, but Seattle overturned the goal after video review showed a missed stoppage caused by a high stick. Later in the second, Jordan Eberle’s goal was nullified due to an offside challenge from Edmonton.
