Mikhail Sergachev tallied a goal and two assists, and Dylan Guenther recorded three assists as the Utah Hockey Club overwhelmed the Seattle Kraken 7-1 on Tuesday night, halting Seattle’s three-game win streak.
Goaltender Karel Vejmelka stopped 18 shots, while Utah had seven different goal scorers and fired 42 shots on goal in the blowout victory. Clayton Keller and Logan Cooley each added a goal and an assist for Utah, which dominated from the opening puck drop.
Jared McCann scored the only goal for Seattle, finding the net 23 seconds into the third period to prevent a shutout. Joey Daccord started in goal for the Kraken, making 22 saves before being replaced by Victor Ostman to start the third.
Sergachev opened the scoring just 2:44 into the first period with a long wrist shot. Utah extended the lead with power-play goals from Keller and Kailer Yamamoto just minutes apart to make it 3-0.
Lawson Crouse struck 16 seconds into the second period with an unassisted goal that sparked a second-period barrage. Cooley, Nick Schmaltz, and Michael Carcone each scored to stretch Utah’s lead to a commanding 7-0 before the final intermission.
