Joey Daccord stopped all 32 shots he faced, and Jaden Schwartz scored twice as the Seattle Kraken shut out the Winnipeg Jets 3-0 on Thursday night, snapping Winnipeg’s five-game winning streak.
The win marked Seattle’s lone regulation victory on its six-game road trip, which included one overtime win in Toronto, two regulation losses, and two extra-time defeats.
Schwartz scored early in the second period, burying a rebound at 2:28 to give Seattle a 1-0 lead. He later added an empty-net goal in the closing minutes, while also assisting on Jordan Eberle’s empty-netter as the Kraken closed out the Jets.
Connor Hellebuyck made 25 saves for Winnipeg, which was held off the scoreboard for the first time this season.
The game also featured two family storylines: Jets defenseman Haydn Fleury faced his younger brother Cale Fleury, a defenseman for Seattle, with their parents watching from the stands. Meanwhile, Jets forward Brad Lambert played against his uncle, Kraken head coach Lane Lambert, for the first time — with their shared family matriarch, Brad’s grandmother, in attendance.
