Jordan Eberle scored two goals, both assisted by Matty Beniers, as the Seattle Kraken held off the Edmonton Oilers 3-2 on Saturday night to continue their best start in franchise history.

Tye Kartiye added his first goal of the season, and goaltender Joey Daccord made 31 saves to help Seattle improve to 5-2-2. The win capped an impressive stretch in which the Kraken defeated both last season’s Presidents’ Trophy-winning Winnipeg Jets and Stanley Cup runner-up Oilers in back-to-back games.

For Daccord, it was just his second career win in nine appearances against Edmonton.

The Oilers, who had won nine of their previous ten meetings with Seattle, got goals from Evan Bouchard and Darnell Nurse, while Leon Draisaitl picked up two assists to extend his point streak against the Kraken to six games — five of which have been multi-point performances. Stuart Skinner finished with 20 saves.

Eberle opened the scoring just 1:23 into the game, finishing a cross-ice feed from Beniers with a quick shot over Skinner’s glove from the right circle. Kartiye doubled the lead at 6:35 of the second period, firing home a shot from the high slot for his first of the year.

Bouchard cut the deficit to 2-1 late in the second on a power-play goal — Edmonton’s fifth power-play tally in three games — before Eberle struck again midway through the third, tapping in a close-range pass from Beniers to restore the two-goal lead.

Nurse made things enjoyable with a long-range blast past Daccord at 5:25 remaining, but Seattle held firm to secure the victory and another milestone win in its historic start.
