Connor McDavid delivered a dominant performance with a hat trick and an assist, leading the Edmonton Oilers to a lopsided 9–4 victory over the Seattle Kraken on Thursday night.
McDavid recorded the 13th hat trick of his career, tying Mark Messier for fourth-most in franchise history. He struck first midway through the opening period, added a power-play goal late in the second, and completed the trio with another man-advantage tally early in the third. The performance pushed his season total to 14 goals.
Leon Draisaitl matched McDavid’s impact with a four-point night of his own, scoring once and handing out three assists. His goal came on the power play in the first period, set up by McDavid for his 28th assist of the season.
Edmonton’s offense was relentless. Matthew Savoie scored twice, while Vasily Podkolzin, Zach Hyman, and Mattias Janmark also found the net. Evan Bouchard and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins each recorded three assists, and Calvin Pickard made 28 saves as the Oilers improved to 12-11-5, winning for the second time in three games.
Seattle received goals from Eeli Tolvanen, Frederick Gaudreau, Jared McCann, and Jani Nyman, but the Kraken fell to 11-8-6 with their fourth straight loss.
Kraken goalie Joey Daccord surrendered five goals on 14 shots before being pulled six minutes into the second period. Philipp Grubauer took over and stopped 14 shots in relief.
