Patrick Kane delivered the decisive goal with 2:29 left in regulation, pushing the Detroit Red Wings to a 4–3 victory over the Seattle Kraken on Saturday night.
Detroit also got goals from Emmitt Finnie, Andrew Copp, and James van Riemsdyk, while Simon Edvinsson chipped in two assists. John Gibson stopped 24 shots as the Red Wings completed a sweep of the two-game season series.
Kane, now three goals shy of 500 for his NHL career, finished a setup from Alex DeBrincat in the slot for his second straight game with a goal. The win extended Detroit’s point streak to four games (2-0-2).
Seattle received goals from Brandon Montour, Adam Larsson, and Chandler Stephenson, but the Kraken dropped their fifth straight game (0-4-1). Joey Daccord made 21 saves in the loss.
Larsson evened the score at 2-2 midway through the second period, marking his second goal of the season. The play also gave Vince Dunn his 300th career point with an assist. Seattle briefly grabbed its first lead when Stephenson redirected a shot with 7:16 left in the period.
Detroit responded late in the second as van Riemsdyk tied the game with just 28 seconds remaining. He has now scored in three straight games and five of his last six.
