Joel Eriksson Ek recorded a goal and two assists, and the Minnesota Wild erupted for three third-period goals to defeat the Seattle Kraken 4–1 on Monday night.

Minnesota received additional goals from Marcus Johansson, Kirill Kaprizov, and Vladimir Tarasenko, ending a brief two-game slide after previously earning points in 12 straight contests (10-0-2). Filip Gustavsson turned aside 23 shots in the net.

For Seattle, Jordan Eberle supplied the lone goal, while Philipp Grubauer made 25 saves. The loss marked the Kraken’s sixth straight defeat, including five consecutive regulation losses.

Decisive Third Period

Johansson broke a 1-1 tie at 8:12 of the third, redirecting Eriksson Ek’s centering feed past Grubauer to give Minnesota the lead for good. Seattle nearly responded moments later, but Tye Kartye’s apparent tying goal was overturned after video review ruled the play high-sticked.

With Seattle pushing late, Kaprizov sealed the outcome with an empty-net goal — his 18th of the season — with 1:15 remaining, and Tarasenko followed with another empty-netter just 24 seconds later.

Early Scoring

The Wild opened the scoring early in the second period when Matt Boldy worked the puck behind the net and fed Eriksson Ek in front for the finish at 1:18.

Seattle answered on the power play at 6:48 of the second, as Eberle converted a pass from Chandler Stephenson at the left post for his ninth goal of the season, briefly pulling the Kraken even.
