Dylan Guenther scored the decisive power-play goal midway through the third period as the Utah Mammoth pulled away for a 5–3 win over the Seattle Kraken on Friday night, snapping a three-game losing streak.

Nick Schmaltz paced Utah with a goal and two assists, while Kailer Yamamoto, JJ Peterka, and Lawson Crouse also found the net. Kevin Stenlund chipped in three assists, and Karel Vejmelka turned aside 32 shots to anchor the Mammoth defensively.

Seattle received two goals from Mason Marchment and another from Ben Meyers, but the Kraken dropped their seventh game in the last eight. Philipp Grubauer finished with 26 saves.

After a quiet opening period, Marchment opened the scoring early in the second with a backhand finish. Schmaltz answered later in the frame, breaking in alone and lifting a short-range shot over Grubauer’s shoulder. Yamamoto then put Utah in front before intermission.

Seattle had a prime chance to respond during an extended two-man advantage in the second period but couldn’t capitalize. Marchment struck again early in the third to tie the game, hammering a long shot past Vejmelka.

Guenther delivered the difference-maker with 7:05 remaining, converting on the power play to put Utah back in front. Peterka and Crouse sealed the outcome with empty-net goals, while Meyers added a late tally for Seattle.
