Liam Ohgren scored the only goal in the shootout, and Kevin Lankinen turned aside 37 shots as the Vancouver Canucks edged the Seattle Kraken 3–2 on Monday night.
The victory snapped Seattle’s four-game winning streak. Vancouver received regulation goals from Linus Karlsson and Elias Pettersson to force extra time before the shootout decision.
Seattle got goals from Jared McCann and Ryan Winterton, while Joey Daccord finished with 22 saves.
McCann opened the scoring at 8:50 of the first period, blasting a power-play slap shot past Lankinen for his first goal since returning from a seven-game injury absence. Moments later, McCann and Conor Garland dropped the gloves following an earlier hit that went unpenalized.
Vancouver answered quickly. Off the ensuing faceoff, Karlsson snapped home the equalizer to make it 1–1.
Winterton restored Seattle’s lead with just 20 seconds left in the opening period, but Pettersson tied it again early in the second, beating Daccord cleanly from the slot at 5:23.
Neither team scored the rest of the way, setting the stage for Ohgren’s shootout winner.
