Matty Beniers scored the lone goal of the shootout to lift the Seattle Kraken to a 4-3 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Friday night.

Seattle extended its strong run to 6-0-1 in its last seven games. Cale Fleury, Chandler Stephenson, and Ben Meyers found the net in regulation, while Joey Daccord turned aside 20 shots through overtime.

For Vancouver, Jake DeBrusk recorded his first multi-point performance of the season with a goal and two assists. Kiefer Sherwood and Linus Karlsson also scored, and Thatcher Demko made 25 saves.

After both teams came up empty through the first five shootout attempts, Beniers sealed the win. Skating in from the left, he faked Demko one way before cutting back and slipping the puck into the open side of the net.

Karlsson tied the game at 3-3 midway through the third period, scoring just hours after signing a two-year, $4.5 million contract extension with the Canucks.

Seattle struck first late in the opening period when Fleury scored his first goal in nine games with 2:26 remaining. Stephenson doubled the lead on a power-play one-timer at 8:53 of the second.

Sherwood answered for Vancouver with a power-play goal later in the period. Meyers restored Seattle’s two-goal cushion with 1:47 left in the second, but DeBrusk responded quickly, scoring another power-play goal just over a minute later to make it 3-2.
