Berkly Catton scored the go-ahead goal in the third period as the Seattle Kraken erased a two-goal deficit and defeated the New York Rangers 4-2 on Monday night at Madison Square Garden.

Eeli Tolvanen, Jordan Eberle, and Jared McCann also found the net for Seattle, while Philipp Grubauer made 19 saves. The Kraken continued their strong run, improving to 9-1-2 over their last 12 games.

The Rangers got goals from Mika Zibanejad and Sam Carrick, and Jonathan Quick stopped 25 shots. New York dropped its seventh game in eight outings and slipped to 5-12-4 at home this season.

Catton broke the tie with 7:58 remaining in regulation, pouncing on a loose puck in the crease after his first attempt was denied by Quick. McCann iced the game with an empty-net goal in the final 10 seconds.

Seattle trailed 2-0 after the opening period but responded quickly in the second. Tolvanen pulled the Kraken within one just 60 seconds in, settling a backhand feed from Frederick Gaudreau and beating Quick from in close. Eberle tied the game at 4:27 with a wrist shot from the high slot, his 16th goal of the season.

Zibanejad opened the scoring early for New York, capitalizing on a rebound behind the net just over three minutes into the game. Carrick doubled the lead shortly after, finishing a rush following a Seattle turnover in the neutral zone.
