Kaapo Kakko scored the decisive goal early in the third period, lifting the Seattle Kraken to a 3-2 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday night and extending Seattle’s winning streak to four games.

Kakko broke a 2-2 tie just 3:18 into the final period, finishing off a rebound from Adam Larsson with a backhand that slipped past Akira Schmid. The goal helped Seattle improve to five wins in its last six outings.

Eeli Tolvanen and Jared McCann gave the Kraken an early cushion with first-period goals, while Joey Daccord turned aside 27 shots. Chandler Stephenson contributed two assists in the win.

Vegas answered in the second period. Ivan Barbashev pulled the Golden Knights within one midway through the frame, and Mitch Marner tied the game with a power-play goal in the final seconds before intermission. Jack Eichel recorded two assists, and Schmid finished with 20 saves as Vegas dropped its fourth straight game and sixth in seven contests.

Seattle opened the scoring at 6:50 of the first when Tolvanen beat Schmid, and McCann doubled the lead on the power play at 13:04, converting a feed from Vince Dunn for the 200th goal of his NHL career.

Despite Vegas’ push in the second period, the Kraken held firm after Kakko’s go-ahead tally to secure another road victory.
