Bobby McMann continued his strong start with Seattle, recording a power-play goal and an assist to help the Kraken secure a 6-2 victory over the Florida Panthers on Sunday night and move into the Western Conference’s second wild-card position.
McMann, playing in just his second game with Seattle, has made an immediate impact since arriving from Toronto at the trade deadline. After posting two goals and an assist in his debut during Saturday’s 5-2 win in Vancouver, he followed it up by scoring his 22nd goal of the season and setting up Jamie Oleksiak’s tally against Florida. Oleksiak also contributed two assists in the win.
Ben Meyers, Berkly Catton, Ryan Winterton and Kaapo Kakko also found the back of the net for Seattle, while goaltender Joey Daccord turned aside 23 shots.
Seattle’s victory strengthened its playoff push as the team looks to return to the postseason for the first time since the 2022-23 campaign.
Florida, the two-time defending Stanley Cup champion, is now in danger of missing the playoffs. The Panthers currently sit 11 points behind the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.
Vinnie Hinostroza and Eetu Luostarinen scored for Florida, and Daniil Tarasov made 19 saves in the loss.
