Vince Dunn recorded a goal and two assists, while Joey Daccord made 27 saves as the Seattle Kraken defeated the New York Islanders 5-2 on Thursday night.
Tye Kartye, Oliver Bjorkstrand, Shane Wright, and Jaden Schwartz also scored for Seattle, which secured its second consecutive win.
Noah Dobson and Maxim Tysplakov scored third-period goals for the Islanders, who have now lost eight of their last 10 games (2-5-3). Ilya Sorokin stopped nine of 13 shots through two periods before being replaced by Marcus Hogberg in the third. Hogberg, making his season debut, recorded 10 saves in relief.
Kartye tipped in Dunn’s shot less than three minutes into the game to give the Kraken an early lead. Bjorkstrand extended Seattle’s advantage to 2-0 with a power-play goal late in the first period, extending his point streak to seven games.
Dunn and Wright added second-period goals to push the lead to 4-0.
Dobson broke the Islanders’ scoring drought with 8:03 remaining in the third, and Tysplakov pulled them within two with a goal just over three minutes later. Schwartz sealed the win with an empty-netter at 16:20.
