Connor McDavid and Corey Perry scored pivotal second-period goals to rally the Edmonton Oilers past the Seattle Kraken 4-2 on Monday night, securing their third consecutive win.
Mattias Ekholm recorded a goal and an assist, while Mattias Janmark also found the back of the net for the Oilers, who have now won 11 of their last 14 games. The victory moved Edmonton back into first place in the Pacific Division, one point ahead of idle Vegas. Goaltender Calvin Pickard stopped 26 shots.
Eeli Tolvanen and Vince Dunn scored for the Kraken, who held a 2-1 lead after the first period but faltered, losing for the second time in three games. Joey Daccord made 27 saves in the loss.
After returning from a three-game suspension for cross-checking Vancouver’s Conor Garland, McDavid tied the game at 2-2 just 1:57 into the second period. Perry followed up with the go-ahead goal at 9:38, and Ekholm sealed the win with an empty-netter in the final minute of play.
