The Anaheim Ducks erupted for three goals in the first eight minutes of the second period, turning a back-and-forth contest into a 6-4 victory over the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday night.
Mason McTavish sparked the rally by tying the game early in the second before setting up Robby Fabbri’s go-ahead goal just over four minutes later. Jackson LaCombe followed with another goal, giving Anaheim a two-goal cushion it wouldn’t relinquish.
Troy Terry, Cutter Gauthier, and Frank Vatrano also scored for the Ducks, now winning three straight after dropping seven of their previous eight.
McTavish, Fabbri, LaCombe, and Vatrano each recorded a goal and an assist, while Ryan Strome contributed two assists. Lukas Dostal made 26 saves in the win.
Eeli Tolvanen, Mitchell Stephens, Jaden Schwartz, and Shane Wright found the net for Seattle, which saw its 11-game winning streak of scoring at least four goals come to an end. Philipp Grubauer finished with 17 saves.
The Kraken struck first with goals from Tolvanen and Stephens after Terry opened the scoring for Anaheim just 1:23 into the game. Gauthier responded to tie it before Schwartz put Seattle back in front with his team-leading 17th goal at 14:01 of the first period.
McTavish evened the score at 3-3 just 1:04 into the second period, and the Ducks quickly took control with goals from Fabbri and LaCombe.
Seattle pulled within one on Wright’s power-play goal at 6:15 of the third, but Vatrano sealed the victory with an empty-netter in the final 1:16.
