Matty Beniers Leads Kraken Past Flyers 4-1

Matty Beniers scored a go-ahead goal late in the second period. At the same time, Chandler Stephenson and Tye Kartye added insurance tallies as the Seattle Kraken defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 4-1 on Saturday.

Brandon Montour also found the back of the net for Seattle, which had dropped four of its previous five games. Goaltender Philipp Grubauer was solid in net, stopping 23 shots.

Beniers’ 15th goal of the season put the Kraken ahead 2-1 with just over a minute remaining in the second period. Stephenson extended the lead with a short-handed goal just 41 seconds later.

Owen Tippett scored his 19th goal of the season for the Flyers in the opening period, while goaltender Samuel Ersson finished with 28 saves.
