Rookie sensation Macklin Celebrini continued his stellar debut season with a goal and two assists, leading the San Jose Sharks to a commanding 6-1 victory over the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday night.

Ethan Cardwell, John Klingberg, Will Smith, Ty Dellandrea, and Tyler Toffoli also scored for San Jose, which blew the game open with three goals in the first four minutes of the third period. Goaltender Yaroslav Askarov was sharp, stopping 28 shots as the Sharks improved to 5-6-3, winning for the third time in four games.

For Seattle, Ryan Winterton scored his first NHL goal in his 34th career game, but the Kraken were handed their first regulation loss at home after a 4-0-2 start at Climate Pledge Arena. Joey Daccord finished with 15 saves, as Seattle allowed a season-high six goals.

Celebrini, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, opened the scoring just 1:08 into the game, firing a wrist shot from the slot for his eighth goal of the season. The 19-year-old now leads the NHL with 21 points.

Winterton briefly tied the game late in the first period after being denied on a breakaway, capitalizing on a loose puck in front to make it 1-1 with 3:30 remaining. But Cardwell restored San Jose’s lead less than two minutes later, blasting home a one-timer for his first goal since last November — also against the Kraken.

The Sharks extended their lead in the second when Klingberg’s power-play slap shot made it 3-1 following a penalty to Seattle’s Jani Nyman. From there, San Jose dominated the third period — Smith, Dellandrea, and Toffoli each scored early to put the game out of reach.
