Jaden Schwartz delivered the decisive goal during a dominant third period as the Seattle Kraken erased a two-goal deficit and rallied past the Chicago Blackhawks for a 3–2 victory on Thursday night.
Seattle entered the final period trailing 2–0, but flipped the game with three unanswered goals. Tye Kartye and Shane Wright jump-started the comeback before Schwartz tipped home the eventual game-winner on the power play. Brandon Montour chipped in with two assists, and Joey Daccord made 22 saves as the Kraken won for the third time in four games.
Chicago built its lead in the second period. Tyler Bertuzzi opened the scoring just 43 seconds in, wiring a shot past Daccord off a feed from Teuvo Teravainen. Teravainen then doubled the advantage midway through the period, converting a quick power-play chance after Bertuzzi’s slick pass across the crease. Spencer Knight finished with 24 saves for the Blackhawks, whose six-game point streak (5-0-1) came to an end.
Seattle began its rally at 5:09 of the third when Kartye deflected Montour’s point shot past Knight. Just over two minutes later, Wright tied the game by batting Ryker Evans’ shot out of midair and into the net. With the Kraken on the man advantage, Schwartz completed the comeback by redirecting Montour’s pass through Knight’s pads from close range.
The opening period was scoreless, with Seattle holding a slight edge in shots. Chicago had a late power play in the first but failed to record a shot during the advantage.
Blackhawks forward Andrei Burakovsky exited early in the first period after taking a shoulder to the face from Kraken defenseman Ryan Lindgren and did not return.
