Noah Ostlund, Tage Thompson, and Zach Benson each found the back of the net as the Buffalo Sabres continued their surge with a 3–1 victory over the Seattle Kraken on Sunday, extending their winning streak to three games.

Buffalo also got a pair of assists from Alex Tuch, while goaltender Alex Lyon turned aside 23 shots to steady the Sabres at the back.

Seattle’s lone goal came from Chandler Stephenson, and Joey Daccord finished with 20 saves. The loss marked another setback for the Kraken, who have now dropped eight of their last nine contests.

Ostlund opened the scoring late in the first period, finishing off a 2-on-1 rush with Josh Norris after Seattle failed to disrupt the passing lane. Following a successful penalty kill, Buffalo struck again midway through the second when Thompson slipped free near the crease and buried a quick feed from Payton Krebs for his 16th goal of the season.

The Kraken briefly cut into the deficit early in their second power play of the night, with Stephenson converting just six seconds into the advantage. Any hopes of a late rally ended when Benson sealed the outcome with an empty-net goal in the final minute.

Despite Buffalo’s modest winning streak, questions continue to surround the organization’s direction. General manager Kevyn Adams, now in his sixth season, entered the year under pressure as the Sabres again sit near the bottom of the standings and face the possibility of extending the NHL’s longest active playoff drought.
