Jordan Eberle netted two goals and added an assist to lead the Seattle Kraken to a decisive 5-1 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday night.
Vince Dunn, Chandler Stephenson, and Matty Beniers also found the back of the net for Seattle, which rebounded from a two-game slide coming out of the Olympic break. During those losses, the Kraken had been outscored 9-2. Joey Daccord was sharp in goal, stopping 27 shots.
Vancouver’s struggles continued as the Canucks dropped their fifth straight. Liam Ohgren scored their lone goal, while Kevin Lankinen made 20 saves but has now surrendered 15 goals across his last three outings.
Dunn opened the scoring at 7:36 of the first period, firing from the top of the left circle in his 600th career game. Stephenson doubled the lead later in the period, cleaning up a rebound with 9:40 remaining. Adam Larsson picked up his 200th career assist on that play.
Ohgren pulled Vancouver within one midway through the second period, beating Daccord with a slap shot at 8:28.
Eberle restored the two-goal cushion late in the second, racing past his defender and finishing a breakaway with a backhand for his team-leading 21st goal. In the third, Beniers added a power-play tally to make it 4-1. The goal was initially credited to Eberle, but a video review confirmed Beniers redirected the puck with his skate before it crossed the line.
Eberle capped the night with an empty-net goal in the final three minutes.
