Shane Pinto continued his scorching start to the season, scoring his league-leading sixth goal and netting the decisive shootout as the Ottawa Senators edged the Seattle Kraken 4-3 on Thursday night.

The Senators snapped a three-game skid with a dramatic comeback, forcing overtime on Dylan Cozens’ late goal with just 1:46 remaining in regulation. David Perron added a power-play marker, and goaltender Linus Ullmark turned aside 30 shots to help secure the win.

Seattle’s Chandler Stephenson found the back of the net twice, including a power-play goal early in the third period that put the Kraken ahead 3-2. Shane Wright scored, while Philipp Grubauer stopped 21 shots in the loss.

Later Thursday, Vegas forward Pavel Dorofeyev matched Pinto’s league-high goal total with a score in the Golden Knights’ 6-5 victory over Boston.

Ottawa’s win came on an emotional night, as the team announced that captain Brady Tkachuk underwent surgery on his right thumb and will miss six to eight weeks. The Senators also lost defenseman Donovan Sebrango, who was claimed off waivers by the Florida Panthers on Wednesday.

Despite the win, the Senators continue to struggle on special teams, having surrendered an NHL-high nine power-play goals this season.
